DIGICEL DONATES CELEBRITY CONTEST PROCEEDS TO ADELE SCHOOL
December 2nd 2011 - DIGICEL DONATES CELEBRITY CONTEST PROCEEDS TO ADELE SCHOOLWednesday,
December 1st 2011 – St. John’s, Antigua: As part of their recent Christmas launch, Digicel held a Celebrity Cash
Grab with the proceeds being donated to the Adele School. The Digicel Brand
Ambassadors – Tizzy, Chickie, Brucella Marsh, Tha Shya and Mongoose
participated in the grab raising $2,300 with Digicel matching their efforts giving
a total donation of $5,000.
Barbara
Charles, Principal said “The Adele School is most grateful for the kind
donation of $5,000 dollars from Digicel. We the staff at the Adele School are
always looking to upgrade & improve the learning experience for our
students many of whom face multiple challenges in their quest to gain both
academic and life skills. We are currently in the process of attempting to add
more space and a literacy centre as we’re full to capacity. We are also looking
to acquire more appropriate learning tools for use in our reception class. The
children learn best when they can experience lessons through the media of
multisensory instruction, so field trips are an essential component to their
program. These trips help integration & create hands on experience, but
they are not all free. Having this kind and generous donation will help in so
many ways to enhance both the environment and overall learning experience for
all students.”
Janice Sutherland, Commercial Manager, Digicel said
“We’re honoured that we’ve been able to raise these funds for a really
deserving cause and this is just part of the support we’ll be providing to the
Adele School this Christmas.”
The
first showing of the Digicel Cash Grab can be seen in the Digicel Cash or More
Cash Quiz show on ABS TV this Friday, December 2nd, at 8pm, where one
lucky finalist will have the chance to grab up to $50,000.
