Digicel launches its Christmas Promotion!

November 18th 2009 - All I Want for Christmas

November 16th 2009: St. John’s, Antigua; Telecommunications provider, Digicel, has once again outdone itself as it revealed to the hundreds of fans attending the football games at the ARG a major promotion where it is giving away three cars this Christmas.

It was only last Christmas that the company changed the lives of three customers through its “Live FREE for a Year” promotion but decided that it had to up the ante this time around.

And so customers in Antigua and Barbuda stand the chance of winning three Suzuki Swifts.

The promotion was unveiled in the usual grand Digicel style after the football game before thousands of fans and after featured performances in the parking lot of the historic ARG by rising star Jashan Hughes and soca diva Claudette ‘CP’ Peters and The Taxik Band.

To launch this amazing promotion, Digicel carefully sort partners who would play a pivotal role to facilitate the experience of such remarkable prize choices. Those partners are Hadeed Motors, authorized dealers for Suzuki Swift & Nissan Cars, and RIM BlackBerry, parent company for BlackBerry smartphones.

With this partnership, Digicel was able to bring the consumers a promotion which is historic to Antigua as this magnitude of prizes for any promotion has never been done before; another first for Digicel.

To qualify for a chance to win a Suzuki Swift in the ‘All I want for Christmas’ campaign, Digicel customers must Top up $25 or more, Talk 3 minutes or more on any call, Pay their postpaid bill on time & in full or buy any handset or BlackBerry smartphone.

For each draw, 10 finalists will be randomly selected from a pool of eligible numbers to have their chance to win a car. There will also be consolation prizes of a BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone for the 9 finalists in each of the 3 PRIZE DRAWS.

One car will be given away each month during the life of the promotion with the first one to be given away December 19, then the second draw on January 23rd 2010 and the final draw February 26 2010.

Troy Byrne, Marketing Manager for Digicel Antigua, commented “we pride ourselves as being innovators and true leaders in the market as it relates to all promotions, and this time we will take it to another level. As usual, our customers are the main reason why do we do what we do and because Christmas is the time for sharing, we have slashed prices on our handsets, and afforded our customers longer talk time to friends and family with our 3 cents after 3 minutes offer.”

He continued, “While they’re [customers] are taking advantage of all the offers for Christmas and the new year, they will also have a chance to win 1 of 3 Suzuki swifts just for doing the right things and that’s our motivation for customer satisfaction considering the current economic situation”.

To continue to drive the promotion, Digicel will embark on a Road Show plus a Game & Movie Nights in 6 villages. They are Barbuda, Grays Farm, Falmouth, Cedar Grove, Parham, Yorks, and All Saints. The aim is to strengthen the company’s relationship with its customers in communities across Antigua and Barbuda by providing wholesome family entertainment.
